Licensed Clinical Psychologist – Dr DeSouza places emphasis on the relationship with her clients, building a trusting and accepting space to understand what is being presented and explore possibilities of decreasing limitations experienced in everyday life. She believes that increasing psychological well-being is essential to a harmonious, joyous way of living and key to expanding our sense of self. Additionally she helps her clients understand that healing can occur.
Dr. Desouza has experience with age ranges 2-88 working with mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral disorders, trauma, learning and attention deficit disorders, developmental delays, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, personality disorders, and eating disorders in Miami Children’s Hospital, Psychiatric residential facility, Social service agencies and community mental health centers.
She uses a combination of practices depending on what is needed at the time including Individual, Couples, Family, Play, Sandtray Psychotherapy, Neurofeedback brain training, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
